The Waterfront, Barrow-in-Furness : Welcome

Work on The Waterfront Business Park

The new 60 acre Waterfront Business Park development is expected to create up to 1500 jobs by 2017, it  is the first step in the regeneration of the Barrow dockside area, which will also include a marina, marina village housing, related shopping and restaurants, a watersports centre, cruise ship facilities and a wetland nature reserve. West Lakes Renaissance Urban Regeneration Company is leading the coordination of this development in partnership with Cumbria County Council, Barrow-in-Furness Borough Council and North West Development Agency. Furness Enterprise is delivering the initial marketing programme.

The Waterfront Business Park is being marketed around the world on the website www.waterfrontbarrowbp.com by Furness Enterprise (www.furnessenterprise.co.uk). Marketing is highlighting the fact that The Waterfront is within one of the UK's few Assisted Areas where special discretionary grants are on offer. It also has a catchment area that draws on highly skilled people who live and work in Furness and tremendous opportunities to access watersports or and provide waterfront homes.
