BBC's local radio service is BBC Radio Cumbria who have studio facilities in the town.

Barrow is served by two commercial radio stations.  The Bay is broadcast from Lancaster and serves the area around Morecambe Bay. 

Abbey FM began broadcasting from Barrow after being awarded a commercial radio licence by Ofcom in 2005. The station, whose target remit is 25-64 year olds living in Barrow and the Furness Peninsula is owned by The Radio Business Ltd, CN Group and The Local Radio Company Ltd.
